Interning at the Performance Corporation…

This week The Performance Corporation team have swapped row-boats for tail coats as they jet off to the IETM Spring Plenary Meeting in Copenhagen. While Jo (CEO), Tom (Artistic Director) and Collette (Programme Manager) spend the week deep in discussions and meetings, preparations for Across the Lough continue in Ireland.

‪(Where temperatures yesterday reached a wonderful 17° compared to a paltry 11°in Copenhagen, not that i’m keeping track!)

The show is a little over three weeks away now and amidst the flurry of preparations (finalising scripts, taking bookings, sourcing jetties…) there is an undeniable sense of anticipation and excitement building for all those involved. I for one am certainly eager to head west and explore what it is to experience a show on a boat! It’s not everyday such an opportunity arises, though most of my ideas of what to expect from a performance went out the beautiful sash windows of Castletown House four weeks ago when I started interning with The Performance Corporation.
Now halfway through my time here, I spend my days absorbed in an incredible array of activities, from wading through policy documents to shopping for wellies and everything in between – including writing this, my very first blog! I couldn’t possibly guess as to what I’ll be doing next week but I can say I’m looking forward to every bit of it and its culmination in my trip across the lough.”
