So.
Here we are in the venue, with the set, lights, sound and visuals running & actors on stage in costume. The creative team are sitting in the seating to my left and my right and stage management are running the show from behind.
It has been an intense week so far. This show is quite unlike anything else that I have done with the company. But then again, I shouldn’t be surprised, it is site-specific piece, and therefore a completely different experience for me(the production manager), that the usual.
I can’t complain, I must compare to other shows where we have worked in the sand, in the rain and the cold, without toilets close by and sometimes without electriciry. This time we are in a conditioned conference room with toilets, AV equipment in house, seating, walls. Piece of cake you’re thinking. Wrong. There is still so much to do. We only have access to the space in the evenings, which makes it very precious. Set-up takes 2 hours at least.
But it’s not all bad. I’m sitting here blogging so it must be alright. There are laughs aplenty in the room tonight. Lets hope it stays that way.
